Ten Mile Rock is a fairly massive rock that lies in the middle of the channel at mile 10.2. Three different books I have list this as being part of the "Coconino Sandstone" or the "Torroweap Limestone" or the "Kaibab LImestone." These are the top three layers at the rim, but I do not know which is right. Seems like geologists would agree on this by now... Either way, that boulder must have had bounced like crazy to end up in the middle of the river.
